Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

This is draft mock power rankings consisting on how teams have done during trades so far.

This is the summary of how points were awarded:

It counts the possible points a player drafted in the round will give a team during the season and how many potential players you can pick during each round.

Round 1:
Pick 1: 500 points
Pick 2: 475 points
Pick 3: 450 points
Pick 4: 425 points
Pick 5: 400 points
Pick 6: 375 points
Pick 7 -16: 350 points

Round 2: 300 points
Round 3: 275 points
Round 4: 250 points
Round 5: 225 points
Round 6: 200 points
Round 7: 175 points
Round 8: 150 points
Round 9: 125 points
Rounds 10-13: 100 points
Rounds 14-17: 75 points
Rounds 18-22: 50 points

If a team wouldn't have done any trades then that team would have a total of 3000 potential points

So here are are the POWER RANKINGS for this draft:

1- Shadow Warriors - 3375 points
2- DA BEARS RIP - 3325 points
3- Cool Brittania - 3300 points
4- Loganholme Lorikets - 3275 points

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

you can't really go by that through, cause a lot of 6th rounders can end up better then the 1st rounder...

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

Anthony I do not agree with those trade calculators. Only advantage I see in the pics is in the first round after that every player's valueisnthe same.

Using the calculator with who has the #1 pick and the #16 pick, in a snake draft and for the first three rounds there is a difference of 1700 points, which I do not think are accurate with what real value is.

My ranking are just to start a debate they might not reflect what will happen during the season, but with your rankings you are just trying to say you have the advantage where you haven't. After making my spreadsheets I think that the only true thing about my draft value is that you have the worst out of the 16 owners. You may have 5 pics in the first three rounds, then a pick in the 7th and after that you don't pick until the 19th rd! For the last 4 rounds you will make 16 picks, I mean that is just awful.

Question about the statement that every team should have 3000 points. At first glance, this cannot be true because the first round picks are much more valuable... Besides an early 2nd rounder is much more worth than a late 2nd rounder but yeah you have to make simplifications somewhere. If I calculate correctly the one with the first pick should have had a value of 3150 to start with or am I missing something?

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

What you say is true however just to keep it simple I decided 3000 points should be the starting point for every team, at the end the results would be on what players the owner drafted and the numbers they put through the season.

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

Well because you start your post with 'how teams have done during trades so far', you should incorporate that some people had an advantage (based on your point system) to start with by subtracting the starting points (for example the one who had the first pick minus 3150). Just trying to make your 'power ranking' system better.

Btw, out of curiosity what is the reason why picks 7-16 have the same value? Or with other words, why is there such a difference between 6th to 7th picks? It's the same difference as a 2nd and 3rd round pick?

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

Basically because of how The QB scoring is set up in the league, I wanted to just give 350 points to all first round picks but then I remembered that the five top QB last year passed 350 points therefore the point system.

I did made other scoring based on a 120 point system but it is very different and to hard to explain so I thought why not make it more simple to start a debate and get some activity in the form.

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

So... it's based on fantasy points?

What I mean is, the highest scoring fantasy point player doesn't necessarily is drafted as number one. Else, all the QB could be drafted in the 1st round.

Re: Draft Power Rankings!!!!!!

I understand where you want to go, any ideas on how to try and give a more accurate value?

I do think that put of the top 5 picks three will be at least QB.

Ah okay, I did not read everything apparently . Ok. I wouldn't do it like that but thanks for calculating everything out and answering my questions. I don't have the time to try and do it myself so yeah easy for me to (hopefully constructively) criticize. Funny though, I'm at the same spot as the previous power ranking.
